Upon retirement after 34 years with Tech Development, Inc (TDI), Dave formed the company, Engine Starting Solutions, LLC in August 2022. Using his experience in engineering and solving some of the world’s most challenging start system problems, Dave has now partnered with some of the best starter and equipment manufacturers to bring a complete range of options to bear on any staring application in order to provide Marine, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation operations with a single, powerful resource to assure the optimization of their start systems. Engine Starting Solutions LLC is a natural outflow of Dave’s professional engineering, sales, and marketing experience to develop business with manufacturers of starting equipment.
Dave started with TDI in 1988 as a product test engineer, then advanced to product design engineer, and ultimately finished working direct engineering efforts as a project engineer. In this project role, he worked closely with sales and was often in the field interacting with OEM, distributors, and end users customers of TDI products. Dave’s passion was working with customers to help solve their starting challenges. In 1996 when Dave switched roles and became the Director of TDI Sales and Marketing. Dave spent the rest of his TDI career working as a commercial leader and product manager. His main contribution was to drive growth and introduce product development programs for the business where he worked closely with the world’s largest engine manufacturers/customers. His product and engineering background was highly beneficial to technical sales and he ultimately spent 25 years as Director of Sales & Marketing, and as the Commercial Leader for the TDI business. Dave retired from GE Aviation Systems in June 2021 and after giving retirement a try for about 18 months, the same passion which led him to work with customers to solve problems back in 1996, has led to starting new chapter as business owner and sales consultancy with Engine Starting Solutions, LLC.
